Poems

Civil Rights Haiku
When will the strife end?
Equal rights for everyone.
Soon we will be one.

I Am Poem
I am a human being with worth
I wonder about the future
I hear insults being hurled at me
I see the separation between races
I am a human being with worth
I pretend to feel content in front of my children
I feel the shots of pain and agony
I touch my heart knowing that this is unjust
I worry for the next generation
I cry for the loss of dignity
I am a human being with worth

Determined, head strong
Learned, enacted, provided
As supportive of civil rights as an activist

Women
Women, it's time for action
Let's prove that we deserve equal rights
Women, it's time for action
Let's prove that we can be the male's equal
Women, it's time for action
Let's prove that all we have been fighting for is not going to waste
Women it's time for action
Let's prove that we are capable of getting the men's attention
Women it's time for action

Haiku
Finally it's here
We have been praying for this
The Civil Rights Act
